Vaughan Lodge Hotel is perfectly located in the village of Lahinch County Clare. It is located right beside the world famous Lahinch Golf Course and Doonbeg Golf Course.
The hotel is ideally nestled on the shore of Liscannor Bay on the eastern approach of the N67 entering the village. Lahinch is situated 45 minutes drive from Shannon Airport and within striking distance of the fine championship links of Doonbeg and Ballybunion.
Although golf is the first language of the village, the resort is also a well established touring base for North Clare. From the Cliffs of Moher to the lunar like landscape of the Burren, the area enjoys a wide breadth of scenery and history that will indulge even the most travelled tourist. The Leisure Complex by the seaside has an indoor pool, aquarium and visitor facilities. Surfing is a popular pastime with boards and wet suits available for hire. Visitors to Lahinch can enjoy a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Lahinch ( Please pronounce it La Hinch !! ) is also spelled in many places recently ”Lehinch” ( this derivation is from the irish “leath inse” or half and Island. Pronouncing our village name “Lehinch” will set you apart from the natives and mark you out as an arriviste and slave to the follies of officialdom…… lol!! ) Learn about the confusion here. The village is home to about 700 locals and natives. We like to call it a village, but with the pace of growth in recent years our village has fast become a town. Our ranks swell to about 7000 in the summer as those who simply have to spend the majority of life working away elsewhere find some time to enjoy their summer retreat.
